This series of images was my exploration of life-long physical abuse, sexual trauma, memory, and power. Through nudity, long exposure, movement, props, and multiple exposure, I represented the mental landscape that repressed traumatic memories have created within me and all that they impose: fear, violence, pain, and attempts to claw back what was taken from me. Using my present physical self to represent my past allowed me navigate this in a way I can only describe as liberating.
